Occupational Health and Safety

Koskie Minsky’s Labour Lawyers provide trade unions and workers with a wide range of advice and representation in occupational health and safety matters. We regularly act for our clients before the Ontario Labour Relations Board with respect to matters connected with Orders of Ministry of Labour Inspectors, including both Appeals and Requests for Suspension of Orders. We regularly act for trade unions and workers in complaints against employers alleging reprisal for health and safety activity.

We pioneered the use of Interim relief applications in connection with health and safety proceedings. We also provide counsel to our clients with respect to matters relating to the establishment and governance of effective health and safety institutions within the work place, such as Joint Health and Safety Committees.
