Ernie Schirru is a partner in the labour law and employment law practice groups at Koskie Minsky LLP. He represents industrial, public sector, private sector, entertainment industry and construction trade unions on a full range of labour relations matters, including the acquisition and maintenance of bargaining rights, unfair labour practices and grievance arbitrations arising under collective agreements. He regularly deals with workplace issues relating to human rights, employment standards, health & safety, workplace injuries and collective bargaining. Ernie also provides clients with advice on internal governance matters as well as a wide variety of individual employment and human resource–related matters and litigation. He is a graduate of Brock University (BA — Labour Studies & Politics) and Osgoode Hall Law School (LLB) and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003.
