Volkswagen Timing Chain Class Action
This case alleges that various Volkswagen and Audi vehicle engines contain a defect in their timing chain systems that cause engine failure.

The Volkswagen/Audi Timing Chain Settlement has been approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. The Settlement will need to be approved by the Superior Court of Quebec for it to become operative.
The Superior Court of Justice has suspended all regular operations, effective Tuesday March 17, 2020, until further notice. As a result, all non-urgent matters scheduled to be heard after March 17, 2020 have been adjourned. We anticipate that the Ontario Settlement Approval Hearing scheduled for March 23, 2020 will not go ahead on that date. We will provide an update as soon as we have more information.
This case has been settled, but the settlement has not been approved by the Court. The Ontario Settlement Approval Hearing has been scheduled for March 23, 2020 before the Honourable Justice Belobaba. The Québec Settlement Approval Hearing has been scheduled for March 27, 2020.

If you are a class member and you do not wish to take part in the settlement, the opt-out period ends on March 19, 2020.
