Koskie Minsky LLP represented the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 113 in negotiating the formal joint sponsorship of the TTC Pension Fund Society, and a solvency funding exemption for the Society as a jointly sponsored pension plan (JSPP) under the Pension Benefits Act (Ontario). The Society is the first JSPP established after August 24, 2010 to receive an exemption from solvency funding. Mark Zigler and Simon Archer represented the ATU in negotiating the sponsorship agreement and plan amendments. The TTC Pension Fund Society has over 12,000 active members and 6,000 retired members.
