Nancy has worked to put together a wonderful program designed for lawyers new to employment law which she is co-chairing for the Ontario Bar Association. The program will provide an overview of the most common issues in employment law, to assist lawyers in giving advice to clients, starting with the initiation of an employment relationship, determining whether there is “just cause”, and dealing with issues surrounding termination of employment. To provide a sense of the variety of issues you may face, practitioners, including our own Ernie Schirru, and mediators who specialize in employment litigation will share their perspectives on “hot topics” and trends in employment law.
