Leona is an associate in the Civil Litigation group and has a varied litigation practice with a focus on construction related disputes and commercial litigation.
Before joining Koskie Minsky, Leona articled at a prominent Toronto litigation firm and subsequently began practicing as a sole practitioner in association with several boutique firms with a litigation practice focused on contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, property and infrastructure deficiencies, insurance coverage and subrogated claims. Leona also has litigation experience in transportation and cargo claims, environmental claims, commercial lease disputes, and has regularly appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Leona graduated law school with distinctions from both University of Ottawa and Michigan State University. During law school, she participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot in her second year, and was on the winning Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot team at University of Ottawa. Leona is a member of the Ontario and New York State bars and is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
