KM Celebrates 30 Years

This is a milestone year for our firm: 2011 marks our 30th anniversary. We have much to celebrate.

We have grown from a small office of 5 founding lawyers to 40 lawyers and 4 law students. Together with our experienced staff of administrative assistants, law clerks and paralegals, we are proud to continue to deliver effective service to our clients and the profession.

Koskie Minsky continues to grow. We are pleased to announce that Ernie Schirru, a member of our labour practice group, has become our newest partner.

Koskie Minsky also continues to enjoy success and recognition. For the third straight year, our firm has been selected by the Lexpert and American Lawyer organizations as having the top labour, employment and pension practice in our jurisdiction. Four of our partners (Kirk Baert, Alan Minsky, Ari Kaplan and Mark Zigler) have been named in the 2011 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada, in the areas of class actions, labour and pension law respectively. Most of our partners are recognized by Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada as leading practitioners in their field, and many of our lawyers are regarded as the future leaders in their practice areas.

We also take great pride in the appointment of Bernie Fishbein as Chair of the Ontario Labour Relations Board, after 30 years of service with us.

While all of this recognition is wonderful, we are always aware that our achievements are due to our strong relationships with our staff, friends and colleagues in the community and, most importantly, our clients.

Thank you for your friendship and support over the past years. We look forward to celebrating both our past achievements and our future success with you in 2011.
